LOVE – WEEK 3: PART 1
Be love in the world
Nothing sums up the meaning of love better than this comment that’s floating around Facebook:
As the world fights to figure this all out, I’ll be holding doors for strangers, letting people cut in front of me in traffic, saying good morning, keeping babies entertained in grocery lines, stopping to talk to someone who is lonely, tipping generously, calling you by the name on your tag, waving at police, sharing food, giving children a thumbs-up, being patient with sales clerks and smiling at passersby as often as I am provided the opportunity, buying a total stranger a cup of coffee.
Make unconditional love visible
Why should you do this? I will not stand idly by and live in a world where unconditional love is invisible. Join me in showing love, judging less. Find your own way to swing the pendulum in the direction of love.
Be kind to a stranger today and every day. It just may be a friend you have never met. Pay it forward for any kindness shown to you in the past. Be the change!!! Be the light!! Start TODAY!
Love is all there is.
Try on this idea for just a moment: LOVE IS ALL THERE IS. There is no hate. There is no evil. And so there is nothing to fear. Hate, brutality, oppression are the absence of love. Love conquers all. Love banishes fear. Love relieves frustration. Love nourishes faith. Love brings joy. Really think about it. Think of when you have felt fearful, frustrated, depressed, hurt. Now introduce into your mind some thought of someone who loves you unconditionally. What happens?
The negative leaves and the LOVE overwhelms. Take this new awareness with you today and apply it at any time you feel negative. Test the idea yourself and you will see…… Love is all there is.
To help you move forward, let’s make a list of things / people / experiences that will probably make you feel love.
- babies and children
- your parents / family / friends
- time in nature
- great art of all kinds, music, cinema, live theater, great sculpture and visual art
- visiting other cultures and watching total strangers be happy and loving.
- your own great accomplishments
- wonderful pets
- time in the silence
- reading about people who have led a loving life
- listening to a motivational speaker tell stories of love
This list is a good start but please share in the comments section below so we can make it bigger. Go ahead and tell us your own story of LOVE. I know you have at least one.
Armed with this list, your job is to go forward living love. In quiet time as you start your day, review your list to get your heart moving. And remember, start CHOOSING LOVE on purpose. Avoid negative people who always share their complaints and frustrations. Avoid negative media filled with fear, anger, and hate. Shun anything that makes you feel bad.
Do this and you will soon see that love really is all there is and that love conquers all.

LOVE – WEEK 3: PART 2
Love…….be the presence of love in the world.
LOVE – WEEK 3: PART 3
I am love. I see love. I hear love.
I speak love. I think love. I touch with love. I act with love. I am the expression of divine love in the world and that fills me with joy.
Please understand that love does not exist in the world except to the extent that we each BRING IT INTO THE WORLD. And we each have an infinite capacity to love, so there is no need to fear running out. The more you give, the more you have. Think about it.
Love is an action!
Although we often think of love as an emotion, as a noun, it is in reality an ACTION; it is a VERB. We have already discussed a myriad of ways that you can act lovingly in the world. These actions are almost always directed toward others. But loving yourself is really the beginning. So drop your frustrations; drop your hurt feelings; drop your life in the past. Open your heart to today and be love in the world.
Give yourself the “present.”
But I want you to realize that when you act lovingly toward others, you are also giving yourself a precious gift. In these loving moments of time, YOU are choosing love not fear or anger or frustration. And that truly is the special gift that makes the present moment a “present or gift,” one that you can place under the Christmas tree of your heart in every moment.
The ADVENT season is the season of “becoming.” We anticipate the birth of baby Jesus, but most importantly we also realize that in our own hearts we are birthing HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE. Please remember that. Peace and love, my friends.

A new commandment…..
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
–John13:34
Remember, “love” is a verb, not a noun. Go do it!
